To all of my friends who celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Mine was everything I could have wished for. Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were filled with lots of family, lots of friends, and lots of food! It doesn't get any better than that. I want to keep things short and sweet today, so I decided to do a "Five Things" roundup!
1. Christmas Spirit
Santa treated me well this year. I was expecting a humdrum holiday without my dad, but my holiday was everything but that. My family and friends stepped up to the plate and really made it a Christmas to remember. This year proved that I will be okay... and my family will be okay too.
2. Wine Wipes
My friends know that I am the queen of the "wine lips" whenever I have a glass of red. This year my Sweet Note
partner in crime, Michelle, was kind enough to cover me for future glasses. That lady has my back, for sure.
3. Home Hunting
It's time for me to spread my wings and fly. I have been on the look for new homes. So far, I have seen a few places that caught my eye, but I don't want to jump on the first few that I see. I'll know I'll find the perfect place soon. My current nomad kind of lifestyle is really great, but I can't wait to have a place to settle in for a bit and call my own.
4. Overall Progress
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in pushing myself harder that I forget to stop and reflect on the progress that I've made- physically, mentally, spiritually. Today I blew my own mind and caught a glimpse of the strength I have built this year.
5. The Gift of Family
After my dad passed away, I found this handwritten note in his dresser. My dad always left me little, cheesy notes around the house. This one was written my senior year of high school, but for some reason he kept it. I'm glad he did because I found it and was able to keep it for my memories. As a Christmas gift this year, my brother and sister-in-law were both thoughtful enough to take that framed note and have it engraved onto a pendant. Now I can take a little piece of my dad everywhere I go. ❤
I hope everyone had a very Happy Holiday again. Sending you lots of love and light as we near the end of the year!
