Okay, maybe I fibbed a little bit in yesterday's post when I said that it would be the last time that I would use anymore word mumbo-jumbo for the week. It was an honest mistake! I swear!
How could I have forgotten? Today is #high5fri!
What in the World is #high5fri?
High Five Friday is an event hosted by Meg at A Dash of Meg that basically allows you to celebrate and honor your weekly accomplishments, achievements, and abilities! Whether they're trivial or monumental, we all make so many accomplishments that oftentimes go left unnoticed. For that reason, Meg created this awesome opportunity that allows us to give ourselves credit and celebrate all of the wonderful things that we all do.
Want to know the best part?
We get to celebrate high5fri with not only ourselves, but with all who surround us.
We should make it our job to shine the light on our friends and family who don't take the time to give themselves credit for the great things that they do on a daily basis. Don't you feel better when you receive a "good job," an "I'm so proud of you," or a big ol' high five? I know that I certainly don't give myself the credit when I should. Sometimes I'm just so caught-up in the swing of things that I honestly just let my achievements fly right by me without recognition. Want to know a secret, though? That's OK. We are only human, and we are going to be running rapid sometimes. Odds are, those of us who are in this rapid boat are typically the DOers and the thinkers. We are simply too focused on productivity, productivity, productivity that we just don't pay attention to the (no longer) trivial successes that we encounter on a daily basis.
And With that Being Said...
I want to take the time to not only give myself a high five, but also give a few of my closest friends high fives for their achievements in the past week. Is it just me, or does life seem so much better and easier when you surround yourself with great people?
Take us Back to Disney World!
I want to give a shout out my my absolute best friend in the entire world, Cara! She finally scored a job with the Teddy Bear Academy, a childcare company that she has been working her tush off to get. I know that she adores working kids of all ages, so this is the most perfect place for her to be. I know that she's going to be a great asset to the Teddy Bear Team.
I also want to give a shout out to one of my really good friends here at Arcadia, Matt! He got one of his articles published with freakin' USA TODAY COLLEGE. How awesome is that? If you want to check out his article, go here. His article's topic is coming out in college and overcoming the fear of rejection: "why fear those who judge you and criticize you: Who needs them? Live for yourself and do what makes you happy. Life is much too short to do otherwise." His hard work is truly paying off. Congrats, Matt!
Keep Reading, We're Getting to the BEST PART!
I want to take the time to give you all a warm and undivided thank you for taking the time to make my blog even that much more special. I'm giving myself a high five for gaining the courage to finally create this site, but I want to give you guys a high five for taking your personal time to check it out daily. I have to say, I am so impressed by the traffic that I'm seeing move in and out of my page at such an early time in my blogging career. I really cannot wait to see where my site goes and who I encounter while doing my thang networking (yes, I said thang. Don't judge). ;)
You guys have absolutely no idea how much passion and energy that I have just cooking up inside of me for this blog. If I could, I would sit here all day to just build and build my site for you all to enjoy. But who am I kidding? That would only happen in my wildest dreams. :p
I think it's safe to deem myself an official blog nerd. Rut roh.
I'm so happy I got to dedicate my first #high5fri to my closest friends! I'm looking forward to celebrating the major accomplishments of myself, my friends, and my family every week.
Here are some Friday tunes for you to crank up and enjoy! This is one of my personal feel good favorites. Happy start to the weekend! Xoxo
