This past week the Lorna Jane and Fit Approach team kicked off the #LJFitChallenge. If you're heavily involved in the fitness and health foodie community, then I'm sure you have seen the many posts across blogs, Instagram photos, tweets, etc. I'm proud to participate in this challenge. It's an opportunity to motivate others, but most importantly, motivate yourself.
Anyway, with the challenge in full-swing, I figured now would be the perfect time to mention how I have been feeling this week. I know I paint a pretty picture for everyone on here and on social media (and 99.9% of it is true), but I am only human and I do have to be real.
The past week has been crazy. It has been a roller coaster. Monday was stressful. Tuesday was fantastic. Wednesday was OK, but I was on the run all day (from Philly to Baltimore, then back to Philly), then had to get ready for NYC the following day. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE traveling. I'm not dissing that part at all. However, between work, school, and workouts, and everything else in between that I force to make a part of my everyday routine, the traveling takes a toll on you, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't freaking exhausted at the end of some days. Most days I do feel 100%, but others I do not (turns out the culprit was my lady friend this week #girlproblems). Anyway, emotionally, my week was blunder, but physically it was too. Needless to say, I'd also be lying if I said it didn't bother me that I'm losing some definition. I can't see my abs anymore. Again, I am only human and I do pick myself apart sometimes. I know many can relate.
All things considered, I know that I am eating more, working more, learning more, living more, loving more, laughing more, feeling more, growing more, and overall enjoying life more. All of which came from the busy days and the big goals that I have set for myself. If tackling days and achieving goals means being a little tired and losing some abs, then I'm OK with that.
I feel stronger. I feel happier. I feel better than I ever have before. Sometimes you have to let go of your need for perfection and just let things be ❤ And on that note, my crazy week deserved takeout sushi.
You have no idea how much good food can do for a gal. Like Lorna Jane said, you have no idea how important nutrition, food, and having a fit and healthy body is. #sweatpink
