If you read my original post, then you know we're in the middle of the #LJFitChallenge. A challenge for
women to empower themselves, but to also empower others! That said, I wanted to bring one of my healthy
habits to attention: eating. I know its a sore subject to some, but know that you're not alone. It's a sore subject to me too.
Some people question why I eat so healthy, and sometimes, it makes me question it myself. I get uncomfortable when my family and some friends point out my eating habits. "What is THAT? Do you want some of this? Oh, right. You don't eat this." are some of the things that I get frequently. Sometimes it makes me wish I didn't appreciate nutrition and wholesome food as much as I do. Sometimes I let the judgement get the best of me. I have feelings. Yes, I am sensitive.
But then I'm reminded why I eat the way I do: 1. It makes me feel better physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually 2. I know more than I want to about ingredients and processed goods (sometimes I wish I didn't 🙍 can make me overthink things a little more than I should #beinghonest) 3. It increases my performance in the gym and gives me the results I work hard for
And most importantly, 4. It keeps me happy, healthy, and fueled to tackle my goals every single day.
No matter what, stay true to you and do what makes YOU happy! Don't let anyone talk you out of your ways. Love what you do. Love what you eat. Love your lifestyle.
And love this little guy... because what's cuter than a cup of coffee lifting weights? He knows how much strength it takes beat to the sound of your own drum. Caffeine gets knocked around too, after all.
Cheers to the weekend!
Tell me what makes you uncomfortable. Do you let it get the best of you? How do you deal?
