Thanks to the ladies over at Fit Approach, I was given the opportunity to check out She's Losing It, a funny and informative book about fitness, bodybuilding, and transformation. I was intrigued especially because I too am following a similar journey. Although I am not bodybuilding, per say, I am working on my own transformation through fitness and living to the best of my ability everyday. To hear another woman share her story was nothing short of awesome.
Essentially, after given a diagnosis from her doctor, Lisa learned that she had to get a grip on her health. At the age of 38, she mustered up the courage to enter a bikini competition. With lots and lots of hard work, sweat, tears, cries, and laughs (yes, laughter was included!), Lisa dropped 50 lbs, snapped out of her "midlife crisis," and became a personal trainer on an all women's bodybuilding team. If that's not an example of tenacity, then I don't know what is.
Like Alyse @ Sweat Guru, I’ve heard Lisa’s book called “The Rocky for Moms,” and I can't help but to agree. Lisa's book is for those who have had endless conversations with ourselves. It's for those who have neglected our diets and said "tomorrow." It's for those who are overweight and want to regain control of their life. It's for those who want to lose weight and regain pure, genuine happiness.
Fitness changed Lisa's life, and now she blogs to encourage other people to get in shape.
Head over to Lisa's page to learn more about her journey, and if you haven't already, check out her book, She's Losing It!
I'm giving away a She's Losing It! book to one reader. For entry methods, please:
