I hope everyone enjoyed (and still is) enjoying their weekend. I took an impromptu beach trip with Ryan and his family, so my weekend was filled with sun, sand, and serenity! I'll be sure to share a recap, but first, we Sunday Social!
1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My wicked sweet tooth is shouting "oatmeal" at me, so I'm going to go with that.
2. What’s your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
PB&J sandwiches will always have my heart!
3. What’s the weirdest/craziest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Back in my non-vegetarian days, I ate fried alligator with my dad. It's a very popular appetizer in Florida!
4. What foods do you avoid at all costs?
I avoid foods that
5. What meal reminds you of your childhood?
If you consider a cheese sandwich with Gulden's spicy mustard to be a meal, then that's certainly it. That's the only thing I ever wanted as a child!
6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
During Christmas time, my family and I always look forward to baking. Although we make lots and lots of cookies, I'm going to share this one. It's our newest addition to the cookie crew! We add a new recipe every year.
Thanks, Neely, for hosting!
Onto My Recap!
We hit the Jersey shore Friday night, so I was sure to take advantage of the shoreline on Saturday morning and go for a run! Running is so much when it's done along the water.
I tackled 4.20 miles in 35.25! That's a new PR! For some reason, I always run at a faster pace when I'm outdoors.
I won't lie, though. My legs were exhausted! I was sure to refuel properly with overnight oats.
So with my run out of the way, it was time for some fun in the sun!
Ryan and I were total beach bums.
I blame our comfy beach chairs.
But we eventually got up and walked the boards!
Ryan tried to win me a prize, but was unable to. I swear those games are rigged! He got an 'A' for effort.
Following the boardwalk, we met up with his family for a seafood dinner (and clearly took a few snapshots beforehand)!
We dined at Hemingway's Cafe, which was an absolutely phenomenal restaurant. Their menu was unbelievable! Click here to see the dishes that I was challenged to choose from. Can you guess what I chose?
I'll save the dinner pictures for What I Ate Wednesday (mwahah *twiddling fingers*), but in the mean time, here's another snapshot of me and my Ry guy. We were two, very stuffed people!
And that just about sums up my miniature getaway! I'm wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the weekend. See you tomorrow for Marvelous in my Monday!
Have you ever been to the seashore? If so, what's your favorite part about about it?
