Boy does it feels so great to be back and posting. After two days "off," I have so much to share with you all!
But first, Sunday Social!
This Week's Questions:
1. What is your all-time favorite song?
Yikes that's tough. How about you guys answer this one for me? :)
2. Who is your favorite singer/band?
I'm a total sucker for Michale Buble!
3. What song reminds you of your childhood?
Any Hilary Duff song. I used to dance around the house to her CD like there was no tomorrow!
4. What songs put you in a good mood?
"Put your Records On" by Corrine Bailey Rae, no doubt.
5. What is your music to rock out to in your car?
Lately, Imagine Dragons and Sara Bareilles have been my two go-to CDs!
6. What is the most embarrassing album or song you own?
Oh jeeze. I would have to go with Limp Bizket. I'm my father's daughter. What can I say?
Onto my Mud Run Recap!
Oh my goodness. Words cannot express how great of an event the Merrell Down and Dirty Mud Run is. For those of you who enjoy running, enjoy a challenge, and enjoy getting a little dirty (okay, so maybe alotta dirty), then this event is for you! I know that the Merrell gang still has many cities to cover, so check if they're coming to you!
On Friday afternoon, Ryan and I had to go to Eastern Mountain Sports in Center City to pick up our race bibs and our Race Day gear. It was my first time visiting an EMS, and needless to say, I had to literally force myself out of the store before I went fitness crazy and bought everything. If that isn't an athlete's heaven, then I don't know what is!
We were officially ready to get down and dirty!
Although we left an hour early, traffic was SO backed up. Ryan and I literally sprinted from the parking lot to the starting line, which was a solid 3/4 mile away. We got there just in the nick of time (and got a nice warm-up in too)! Once we were at the starting line, we were all set. My best friend, Cara, met us at the starting line too! It was so nice to run with the two of them.
The course itself was very challenging. There were many, many hills! Although I'm used to both hills and 3-mile distances, I'm not used to a combination of the two and military-style obstacles.
Click here to see the type of things that I conquered!
I trudged through it all and gave it 110%. Although my race time was, for some unknown reason, not officially recorded, I do know that I finished sometime between 31:00 and 33:00!
The next time that Cara and I cross a finish line together, we will be at the Philadelphia Marathon!
Thank goodness for rinse stations!
I had an absolutely wonderful time and fell in love with running even more so. It's crazy how rewarding a sport can be! Following the race, I spent the day with my family at a BBQ. I'd love to share the pictures with you all, but I'm saving them for MIMM. Tomorrow will be a very special day! Until then, have a lovely end to the weekend, everyone! Stay tuned!
Help me answer the first question: what's your favorite song?
