When life gives you lemons, make lemonade...
and then take that lemonade and build a lemonade stand?
Through all of my antics and frantics the past few weeks, I found a silver lining. It only took
me this "long" (it's only been a few weeks, but urgency and impatience makes you feel like you're wading through molasses) because I was focused on a blueprint that I thought would resolve all of my problems. Instead, that blueprint only clouded my vision and ultimately limited my overall potential. Lesson learned.
So, long story short - I started my own business, Academy Consulting & Coaching, which offers coaching in small business sales, marketing, and management. I named my business after Academy Fence, Inc., which was my father's business. I owe much of my accomplishments to his sincere support as a father, coach, mentor, and friend. This one's for you, Daddyo.
Did I plan to start my business at this very point in my life? Absolutely not. Did I plan to
start a business in general? Absolutely not. However, I'm glad I did. I took my skills, unwavering spirits, and lemons, then made lemonade. I took advantage of my situation.
